And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. So the evening and the morning were the third day.
Genesis 1:12-13 NKJV
Hello friends, and welcome to today’s Scripture thought.
In the previous verse, God (‘ĕlōhîm) spoke grass, herbs, and fruit trees into existence. Now He saw that it was good.
“Good” is translated from the Hebrew word ṭôḇ, and usually means good, pleasant, and agreeable. Everything that God made was very good.
We can see this word used in the verse below as well.
‘that you will do us no harm, since we have not touched you, and since we have done nothing to you but good (ṭôḇ) and have sent you away in peace. You are now the blessed of the LORD.’ ”
