Daily Bread for Women

Hello friends, and welcome. Today we are finishing up our discussion about Psalm 1, with the 6th verse. This chapter is one of my favorites.

For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalm 1:6 (NKJV)

The word “know” in this verse is translated from the Hebrew word yāḏaʿ. It means to know, perceive, recognize, or acknowledge.

The Lord is pleased with us when we walk righteously. Walking righteously and following His will for our lives brings us into fellowship with Him.

This isn’t so for the ungodly. This verse says their way will perish. The word perish is translated from the Hebrew word ‘āḇaḏ, which means to perish, destroy, lose, or void. In the end, the way of the ungodly will amount to nothing.
